The weighing shall be accurate. All materials must be weighed according to the specified quantity with small error. If the weighing is not accurate, the furnace condition is not easy to master, and even waste products may be produced. Therefore, the batching work should be careful, and the accuracy of weighing tools should be checked frequently. If problems are found, they should be adjusted or repaired in time.

For smelting ferrosilicon, batching is the first process to be noticed. The quantity of ingredients has a direct impact on the quality of smelting. So, how do we make ingredients when smelting ferrosilicon? Next, I will share with you briefly.

When proportioning ferrosilicon, the following contents shall be paid attention to:

2. Batching shall be carried out according to the specified sequence to make the furnace charge evenly mixed. The bulk specific gravity of coke is about 0.5 ~ 0.6, that of silica is about 1.5 ~ 1.6, and that of steel chips is 1.8 ~ 2.2. The proportion of raw material piles varies greatly. In order to mix the furnace materials evenly, the batching sequence is coke, silica, and then steel chips. By adopting such batching method, the furnace charge can be mixed more uniformly after being lowered from the charging pipe. The uniformity of burden mixing has great influence on smelting. In order to mix the furnace materials evenly, only one batch of materials shall be measured each time, and the amount of materials stored in each hopper may exceed two batches.

In addition, we need to remind you that the smaller the batch size is, the better for the uniformity of the mixing. Otherwise, it is difficult to achieve uniformity. Therefore, try to use small batch.
